Superb Sportiness 1.4 tsi

Featured Replies

Thinking for moving on from my current 14 VW cc 177 dsg to a superb Sportline 1.4 TSI with dsg.

Can anyone who's moved from a 2.0 TDI to the 1.4 TSI have any regrets?

Also anyone know if the 1.4 Sportline have a sporty should either through the exhaust or with a sound actuator on the windscreen or exhaust?

Thanks

I maybe wrong, but orders for 1.4tsi have now stopped in prep for the new 1.5tsi engine.

That's even better!

My wife had a new kodiac ordered with that engine.

Although I'm in two minds between a vrs 2.o TSI and the 1.5 TSI superb

I’d take a Superb over an Octavia any day.

I drove both the VRS and superb, superb is a different league.. bigger, no handbrake, kessy, adaptive cruise.. I drove the 1.4tsi in the superb and it seemed fine for everyday driving and pulled the big car very well.. but in the end i went for a 220bhp 2.0t for extra grunt..

Unfortunately in Ireland the only do the 1.4 (150) and 2.0 TSI (280). My time has come to an end with diesels. I'd also consider a passat r line but the don't do a petrol version here.

I don't know how many hp your VW has but I moved to 1.4TSI DSG from Peugeot 508 GT. It had 205 hp and 450 Nm diesel power but I don't feel bad at all in my 1.4TSI Superb.

EDIT: Gear shifting paddles is a must with 1.4TSI.

Well I called into my local skoda dealer today to see what deal I could do. Unfortunately they are not taking order for any new cars at the moment due to the new EU regs for CO2 real world testing for all new cars being produced from 1st for Sept. In the mean time Skoda are raising the price of their cars by on average €1000! On top of the real world CO2  testing will increase the price of the cars significantly. Mudflaps, spoiler, bigger wheels will effect the co2 rating and hence the price of the the car. Here in Ireland the VRT and the way we tax new cars will compound the price increase. If you car was just outside a specific co2 band and you where to change you wheels from 18" to optional 19" wheels for say €500 this would increase the co2 emissions and move the car to the next tax band and a possible 1-2k price increase on the car. Also Skoda Ireland wants any new car purchasers to sign a waver that they would accept any price increased on the cars they purchase through the new testing being carried out! So in the end I decided to not purchase the Superb Sportline. The dealer also said it would be a October delivery. So between the unknown price of the car and me not wanting to sign the waver I decided to think about my options.

So I might be purchasing a 245 Octavia instead. The car is currently in stock. This will most likely increase in price as a newly built rs come September by €2-3K :crying:

Are there no pre-built Superbs?  There were plenty a few weeks back when I ordered mine, but maybe they were all going to the UK, although some sitting in Germany too..

Hi JCDUD

I recently purchased the New Superb Sportline 2.0TDi 150bhp in Waterford and got a fantastic deal 2k off the car and 0% finance, i had a 06 VRS new great car but does not come near a Superb.

There are a few Sportline on Carzone still with this deal look it up.

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately I'm looking to go back to petrol and it's not helping my choice.

This is both sad and disturbing news.

Vag seem to be slipping down a black hole of total mismanagement. First dieselgate is likely to end up with multi billion liabilities, now it seems they are "caught out" by WLTP, yeah, something fundamentally wrong here. Stopping production of many models across the group and hiking prices is going to come back and bite them in the bum big time.

As for signing waivers for an open cheque book, they must be joking.

No doubt, sooner or later the word "Brexit!" will be used as a catchall defense.
