Android Auto has offered a nav choice of Google Maps and Waze for a while. Apple just supported their own Maps.

 

At WWCD today, Apple announced support in CarPlay for Apple Maps plus Google Maps, Waze and others, via iOS12.

Used Waze on AA from day 1. Love it.

I use it on iOS but its poo that it was never allowed to work on CarPlay.  This will be a turning point for me.  I currently use the Columbus Sat Nav, but I don't always get on with it (it has its niggles!)

TBF I use the Amundsen Sat Nav and have always found it to be pretty good, latest version in the Karoq is so much easier than the one in my Octy

This is great news! Apple carplay is good but apple maps not so much, but I have an iPhone, so maybe I'll take the spare android phone out of the car someday.

 

I find that after using waze, google maps or even apple maps that the onboard satnav feels very dated.
