before I have to stand in the driveway on the bathroom scales with me spare wheel in my arms has anyone any idea what weight the standard 17" rims are?

I had a set of replica Audi S3 alloys on the car for a week or two and they destroyed the ride with the extra weight, they were defo heavier...

I have the opportunity to go for genuine TT rims with tyres but just want to know what weight difference there will be, also looking at the Team Dynamics racing lightweight range too...

the wieght wouldn't affect the ride in my opinion, its the tyre width and tyre wall height that will affect the ride. a heavy set of wheels might affect acceleration a bit though.

which TT wheels are you looking at? some of them are very heavy indeed as standard, ronal ones i think.

Hi ye, its the TT flat 6 spoke style as seen on the red barons vRS,

the tyre dims were the same, the only difference was the wheel weight, the S3 reps I had on defintely affected ride (Irish broken surface roads) tyre were even the same brand, eagle F1s,

I would ideally like to replace the standard rims with something lighter but need to know the weight first

Might I be right in guessing that you already have 17" RS alloys as opposed to 16"s? If so, and you want to sell the 17"s, give me a shout.... I might be interested.
