No more 1.5 TSI Edition?

Featured Replies

Yes they've stopped taking orders for the 1.0 engines as well.

This is all painful guys, good luck to those that are stuck.

Nothing to do with the £50,000 fine per vehicle for not meeting the new emissions in September ?

Looking around the other forums there are many cars not available at the moment. Will see with my company if I can wait it out a bit - We have a particular deal to push us towards VAG cars but if you cannot actually order anything...

Damn, wonder what will happen in the coming months, what will we be able to actually get (and when, this is going to create even bigger waiting times). Surely they will increase the prices, since tougher regulations means more expenses...

The 1.0 Tsi DSG should become available as from BW48 2018.

BW48 starts 26 Nov

Difficult to guess when ordering will reopen, but assuming there is pent up demand causing rush of orders, realistically going to be 2019 before any new orders get delivered.    If a commencement of production date is available, what advantage is there is making everyone wait until an unspecified date to order, not going to be built any earlier, regardless of date order placed.

Most likely. I feel I had a stroke of luck as originally ordered a 1.5 SEL but was put off by the thread on here about kangarooing. I believe it's just the Edition 1.5 that they've cancelled orders for? But wouldn't surprise me if that became SEL too with how things are going.

The 1.5TSI EVO with a DSG is brilliant, will be available once all the WLTP stuff is sorted, production underway again

& as far as 'kangerooing',  what a load of sharn IMO.     The engine / gearbox combination is great, as are 1.0 TSI with a DSG.

In addition to WLTP (which other firms like BMW seem to have coped with perfectly well), it may also be connected with the recent abrupt cancellation of all contracts with rebel supplier "Prevent group" due to them being ripped off constantly by its maverick Bosinian owner. Prevent recently bought out one of the german companies that make the engine block castings iirc

I have just had confirmation that the Edition model that I was hoping for is no longer available, I wanted this to replace my lease Tiguan which is due to go back in early January next year and with all the delays being mentioned I thought I would get in early to ensure that the January date could be met. Sadly this is not the case so I need to rethink, from what I was able to work out the Edition was extraordinary value for money when comparing with the SEL, the extras on the Edition when added to the SEL make the SEL expensive when comparing the two.

I thought I read somewhere that there was talk of a Sportline is this likely? and will this become the top of the range? does anybody have an idea of what MY19 specifications and model changes are being introduced?

Skoda UK Customer Services or Main Dealership Sales Executives can not confirm any of that so neither can others really.

Ask a sales executive though and they have answers, just not ones they will put in writing and put a signature next to.

Sure if you add all the extras to the SEL it's not going to be good value compared with the Edition, but I'd suggest most people won't do that. With maybe just 2 or 3 extras the SEL is excellent value as in my opinion it has all you really need anyway.
