350Z test drive in the rain or wait until spring?

Featured Replies

Now my driving license is back from having the address changed, I thought I'd take up Nissan Main Dealer's offer of a test drive ;)

However, whilst I'm itching to have a go it is forecast to be damp/raining for the next few days, raining this evening and possible snow at the weekend.

So the question is - do I bother going for a drive today in the damp conditions or shall I waint until the weather brightens up at the end of next month ?

*I have no intention of buying one ;)

At what point will the local motor traders association start publishing posters of you alerting people that you may turn up for a test thrash? :)

ps. I quite like the idea of a 350Z.

 Well its either the 350Z or the Astra VXR this evening, not sure which though.

Someone from Nissan told me that employees could get a 350Z for £250 per month over a one year period. That includes tax, insurance and servicing. BUT you had to be 30 yrs old.

Sounds very cheap if it's right.

Thats about right for an employee lease agreement, you dont own the car at the end though. Land Rover have a similar agreement for the Range Rover ;)

Do the 350Z, and do it today!

Yeah but including tax, insurance and servicing and depreciation for

the VXR might be a beast, but it looks like a Max Power caricature....not quite the understated machine that the vRS is.

If you like oversteer take it for a drive when it's cold & wet. But, if you prefer max cornering grip wait until it's warm & dry. (The Bridgestone RE-040 on it are pants in winter weather)

Also, if you wait until the end of next month, it may be the revised 300ps version you get to drive.

Ooooo...... now theres an idea - I could drive the current version then go back next month to try the newer one ;)

EDIT: 350Z booked for 4:30pm today.

Hey Phil, had the 350Z for a while, I don't think you should take it for a test drive...

..From what I hear, these cars actually don't like sarcastic Briskoda members, and it can be lethal for you in this case, so I'm just letting you know, in case the car you test goes nuts on you.

The guy asked if I wanted to try the coupe or cabrio - I said I was open minded (in case I feel the need to go back and try the cabrio on a sunny day)

He's just calle dback to say he's very sorry but he doesnt have a coupe available and I'll have to use their cabrio demo car today.

Seems like a good excuse to go back in a week or so

Oh...... he knows I'm very keen on the RX8 ;)
