Hi all. (think I initially posted this in the wrong place!!! - apologies.)

New to this forum after running a Fabia Greenline for seven years. Live in Fife and other interests include live music, hi-fi, classic and modern cars.

Just used the user name I use in a few other forums and am retired, but fairly active. Do (and have done for many years) most of my own repairs and maintenance. Served MANY years in the RN and have an encyclopaedia of knowledge on numerous subjects!!!!! Doesn't prevent me looking for views from others and various technical advice now and then tho'. . . :-) . . . and hopefully helping others.

Re carb's and distributers, you are right on the button with that..... I remember when you could buy any single part of a distributer (top plates, weights, springs etc) to repair it, but not possible nowadays from what I can see.

I must admite to having given up on the old ones for now, too much back trouble for getting underneath and bending over where all the work is.   If you do want carb bits especially SUs, try Spitfire House in Salisbury, they have a good range.
