COuld be th ewater pump giving up - in which case you're one lucky chap having it done in the morning !

P.S. What does burning water smell like ;) ?

What is the fault code number? There are quite a few related to the cooling system.

Cheers for the help lads....

the code is 4528 i think....

gonna plug it in this eve to make sure its the same fault - first incident was two days ago and then again this morn....

burnt water sounds silly when re-reading - it smells nasty!!!

Usually the fault code related to the coolant temp sensor, any idea if yours is still the black one?

I Havent dug that deep in yet... do i want the black one or not?! Was there an issue with them.....

The black dual temperature sender was problematic and has been superceded by a green one - PN 059 919 501A 4 pin green 20mm - circa £25.92

Cheers DGW...

i'll have a look....

hooked it up to another fault reader (orbit or something similar) last nite and got P1296... the book could only tell us that it was manufacture specific...

Re-connected it to the first one and came up with the same fault 4528...

well, cam-belt(tensioner, idler, damper) and waterpump r being done today, so that'll eliminate a certain few gremlins..

Later lads...
