Skoda Fabia Mk1 Central Locking

Featured Replies

Hi all. I have a Skoda Fabia Mk1. The central locking packed up and would only work on the key, which locked and unlocked all the doors or on the fob which locked and unlocked all the doors except the drivers door. I traced the fault to broken wires in the rubber trunking between the door frame and drivers door. These wires were fixed and all was well.

A few days later a further fault with the central locking started. The car has the same fault but the flashing red light next to the drivers door push button ceased to work. Also, sometimes,  when the passenger door is shut or opened the central locking can be heard to activate and will sometimes lock the doors. I haven’t investigated this fault yet and the purpose of this post is to pick brains. Has anyone had the problem as I have described it? I strongly suspect the fault to be once again broken wires between the passenger door frame and passenger door. How likely is this? Any suggestions what else could be causing the problems? Thanks in advance.
