Led sidelight don't like the VCDS

Featured Replies

Basically as the title suggests. For my octavia mk3, despite using several different guides on here for coding led sidelight, I'm unable to get them to work.

I swapped the side lights and the number plate lights with the same bulbs and initially when I turned on the ignition, I only an error for the number plate lights. Following the VCDS guide, I used the advised VCDS tweaks and turned off the ignition and turned it back on.

The number plate light error has gone, however there is now a different error, which has been mentioned on the forum before; 'Fault: vehicle light'.

Now on a thread where someone else was having trouble getting there led's to work, someone suggested rather than using the channel '6 - LED Lichmodul', instead use either '43 aligemeine LED' or '40 aligemeine LED'.

Now I've tried both and I'm still getting the same error message on the dash. I've also done an auto scan and I get the following;

526615 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded
          U1014 00 [009] - -
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 00000001
                    Fault Priority: 2
                    Fault Frequency: 1
                    Reset counter: 131
                    Mileage: 7889 km
                    Date: 2018.06.29
                    Time: 21:01:57

Can anybody please shed some light on where either I've not done something or something which I may have done wrong.

Cheers

Ian

Forgive me for creating a dud thread. I had another look on VCDS before and I swapped the number plate light setting from  '6 - LED Lichmodul' to '40 aligemeine LED'. Turned off the ignition and back on again and the fault message had gone.

Was throwing me down the wrong path thinking it was the sidelights, but in fact it was the number plate light which were causing the error.

Apologies
