problem water clean glass

Featured Replies

Good Morning
I have a Skoda Fabia Break van from 2008 and the following problem came to me:
After about 2 weeks I put water in the glass cleaner reservoir and after a short time the water started to appear on the floor.
I think it is some escape from some seal but the problem and I do not know how to get to the water tank ...
The upper part where the water enters is visible but afterwards I can not see the rest of the deposit.
Will someone help me and tell me what I have to take to get to the deposit?
Thank you

If you mean the windscreen wash reservoir, it usually sits behind the front bumper, running down from a long, swan neck shaped pipe, that you fill from just left of the battery, inside the left hand side inner wing! If you imagine taking off the left front wheel and wheel arch liner, it will be behind that.

I think that if you are getting water inside the car, it is more likely a blocked/broken hose that takes the water to the windscreen washer jets.

Have a try at changing the colour of the water or adding say, fizzy spring water to the tank and then try using the washers. See if the fizzy water comes out of the jets and or if it comes into the car.  Gonna be good to run the old liquid out first, until nothing comes out.

If you use fizzy water in an empty reservoir, when it comes out, and use quite a bit at first, to clean the pipes, you can taste/smell the water to know its what you put in. Cheap bottles of supermarket fizz will be a great, inexpensive test. (17p for 2L in the U.K.).

These reservoirs are prone to damage if the vehicle has had an accident where the left wing and/or bumper is damaged

Thanks for the answer
the water that falls on the floor, I think it must be some seal.
My problem is how to get there.
because I've already tried to take the optics but I do not have access ...
This is my problem.

@gandarela - Is this the front or rear washer pipe that's leaking?

If it's the front washer pipe then the leak must be passing through the firewall, because the pipework is all engine-side.

If it's the rear, then I think the pipe runs right down the LHS under the carpet.

the water comes out from under the water container.
My problem is how I get there.
which I have to dismount to reach the water pipe.
I think the problem must be a seal.
from the top I can not because it has the battery and optics.

I do not know if there is any scheme or photo that shows me how I can get there.
is that if I take to skoda I think it will get expensive ... when it is a seal I can fix the problem

Can you get to the washer bottle by removing the wheel arch liner.?

So if I take out the wheel and the protection from the mudguard, I have access to the water tank?
Is it difficult to do that?

The arch line should be held on with screws, undo a couple and couple and see if you can see the washer bottle before you take the wheel off.
