Replacing a door mirror

Featured Replies

Yesterday, I parked at a customer for about an hour to come back to find that someone had hit my driver's mirror so hard that it broke the electric motor out of the housing and the clips have broken, so I've ordered a replacement wing mirror.

Okay, since I couldn't find a tutorial on how replace the driver's mirror, so here goes:

1. Undo the screws at the bottom of the door card.

2. Prise off the handle cover on the door card and remove the two big bolts holding the door card to the door.

3. Carefully pull out the clips around the card and lift the card out of the window seal.

4. Make sure you disconnect all the connectors to the wiring loom in the door. The door handle cable unclips easily.

5. Prise off the plastic cover behind the mirror assembly.

6. You will need to remove the three bolts, slide the cable up and disconnect it from the loom.

Now, install the new mirror following the 6 steps in reverse.
