Got a mk1 Fabia Vrs with the ESP/TCS light on, got a cheap diagnostic reader on eBay and says fault code 00778 - Steering Angle sensor - G85 anyone had an experience with this?

If you are lucky is only missing it’s calibration and that can be sorted by calibrating it. If is defective then you need a new sensor. A vcds scan will tell you exactly what the issue is and it can perform basic settings in case calibration is out.

Or just try slowing driving in a circle on full left lock then full right lock - if it's just a G85 calibration loss that should fix it on a Mk1 Fabia.

So slowly dive a whole circle on 1 lock then the other lock and it’ll recalibrate? Cars on makeshift ramps atm so is it worth checking the sensor while I’m under it?

Tried to recalibrate it as you said but didn’t work unfortunately!

You'll need to lookup the detailed explanation of the fault code then since it's not just a calibration issue.

See this page on the Ross-Tech Wiki 00778 Fault Code
