Alloy wheels

Featured Replies

Hi. Any one know of 225/40/18 will be ok no rubbing etc on Octavia mklll estate 1.6tdi.

Can't see why not - that's the size fitted to the VRS in 18" form.

Oh good good thanks for that. Just was worried because some websites had 215/45/17 as the largest for my vehicle. But fancy something different.

But, but, but... One key number you left out is the offset - closely followed by the rim width.

Can you post those also? They do matter.

7.5Jx18 ET51 and 225 is the width of the rims I want to put on.

Same as the VRS Gemini alloys so you will be fine. You should in fact have more clearance with the 1.6tdi being 15mm higher than the VRS.

What wheels have you got?

I've got 18 inch Golus on my O3 Elegance, I'd like to downsize. May be we can do a swap?

The tyres on it are 225/40/18

My alloys are 2015 Octavia Estate standerd alloys I’m sorry I’m not to clued up on the names. There 205/55/16. The 18’s I’m putting on are seat Leon fr alloys off a 1.4tsi fr 2015.

I have seat 18s in that exact size on my 2.0 TDI elegance estate. Is the same fitment as the 1.6 so you will be fine.

Big difference to the 16s. I came from 17 (using them as winter wheels) and noticed a little difference. 16 to 18 will be a fair bit 'stiffer' in the ride bit loads more grip provided you have the right tyres.

Yeah I have just ordered Michelin primacy 4. Good ratings and quiet.

The wheels are nice and fit the car well, but it desperately needs lowering ;)

What have you done with your old 16inch alloys? I may be interested at the right price :)

I still have them only thing is I have used the Skoda centre caps on the new ones. But very clean no scuffs or kurbing just need a wash. Two tyres have very good tread and two are Michelin half worn.
