bengie - quick for a GTD aint it

Featured Replies

im sure I siad i probably use it for track day use and not general day to day driving..I guess you fogot to add that bit.

I left it out as you said maybe sell it on or maybe use it on track which is not quite the same thing as buying it to drive on a track. ;)

Ok, I'll give you outdated (that's a given, right?), and design is subjective, but in what way was the Mk2 unsafe?! I'm also assuming you were a passenger as you haven't mentioned the car's great handling, agility and chuckability

ut in what way was the Mk2 unsafe?!

indeed, nothing unsafe about it.

I think you said if someone gave me the car!!!?

as for the chuckability I think I could chuck it away:rofl:

the old image the car has is just not for me. maybe be right for the older ones among us.trying to recapture thier youth i think they call it

i think the NCAP tests speak for them selves as for safety with the mk2 golf.I don't think any one can say it is anywhere close to the standards of any of today's car. If your going fast in any hot hatch, I'd like to know I would be safe if there was an accident.

he doesn't get it. he never will. don't bother trying to convince him.

On a cold morning you will be toastie and warm alot quicker in the Golf thats for sure...lol

Absolutely.

I love my MK2, and its well on its way to being in great condition again. The interior is a nice place to be. I imagine a well done 1.8T conversion must make it into a mental car. Nice.

Oh, and :feedtrol:

I do get why you may like the cars. but your reasoning is bad.

end of the day if you like it fair play. I don't, so why is that a bad thing?

i didn't say it was a bad thing, i just don't see the point in everybody going round and round in circles trying to convince each other that their opinion is right

:)

exactly. we wasn't who was?

I think I was just expalaining my reasons. and others were against the point.

Im sure this is what forums are about.

showing your feeling towards a subject.

I see where you are coming from, I'm less than 1 year older than the car! However, my grandad has owned it for all my living memory... I remember cleaning it as a tot to earn a few quid pocket money, remember sitting in it on the drive pretending to drive, remember braking the twiddly stick thing on the stereo... ah memories...
