Octavia VRS complete engine cutout!

Featured Replies

A strange thing happened today, whilst driving rapidly up hill today my Octavia vrs the car decided it would just cut out all power to the wheels, every time I put my foot on the accelerator, the car slowed down even more! I pulled over and the engine was still idling but when I pressed the accelerator the revs raised to 1500 rpm, then back to idle, then back to 1500 rpm then back to idle repeatedly.

I switched the car off and the back on and the car then ran perfectly!

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Can anyone suggest what made it do this and is there a potential problem here?

Thanks in advance for any replys!

Scott.

sounds like it went into limp mode normally gets reset by turning the engine off and on

Sounds like an issue with either the throttle pedal or throttle body.

I have had the car chipped, could this have caused it?
