Jacking up and using axle stands.

Featured Replies

After jacking up the car with a trolly jack at the sill points, I always find it impossible to find somewhere to put the axle stands due to the under trays fitted to the car.

Have any of you removed them for this purpose? Got to change the rear springs and shockers and I really want the car to be safe whilst I'm working on it.

There's a ribbed section on the underside just fore/aft (I don't remember which, altzheimers!) of a domed plate just in front of the rear wheels.

I always use my trolley jack there and position the axle stands on the ends of the domed plate.

I was talking turkey.

It's the area with rubber bungs in front of the domed plate I use to jack and have had no problems after way too many jack and stand jobs.

Obviously don't damage the rubber bungs.
