Driver Name

Featured Replies

I have a query with regards to the infotainment system in the Kodiaq. When the unit turns off it says "Goodbye [drivername], don't forget your mobile phone". Does anyone know how to change the name of the car/driver?

I have asked the dealership and they said it needs to be changed in Skoda Connect??

Any help is appreciated ;)

The question was asked previously and the consensus was it’s the name you registered to Skoda Connect with.

Cheers Kenny ;)

Hi, could not find where to change the name shown in the Skoda Connect portal, nor did I use only a partial last name to register the service, the name which is now shown in the infotainment system when I shut down the ignition.

Any other idea or am I missing something? :-)

Have a nice day,

Anders

Yeh I tried to change my details in the Skoda Connect login in page and then connected the car to wifi to see if the change took effect.....no joy. Surely when the car is eventually sold this info would need to be wiped by a dealership.

Does this mean I need to perform a factory reset of the infotainment system to see if I can set up again?

I noticed in the VW T-Roc it allows you to define a profile for 5 drivers in the system.....would be nice if this was in the Kodiaq :s

I didn’t even RTFM. Just on dash.

Personalisation

For those that paid the £45 or whatever it cost for the 'driver personalisation' option.

For those that didn't - log into Skoda Connect, click on the down arrow in the top right (between 'Skoda Service Partner' and the Power (logout) symbol), click on User Profile, and Edit Profile.

The name displayed on the dash when you turn the ignition off is your first name and last initial from there. If you change it, then it will eventually update on the dash (it's not an instant thing).

No... when you remove the car from your Skoda Connect profile, it stops displaying your name, as you would expect.

Just to update....tried what Wiggos said earlier....and it’s worked fine! Now know how to change the name only issue it’s limited to 8 characters

:dull:

So otoole_keith displays in your car as otoole_k?

:D

Yes exactly..

You sure? As I said above, it looks like it takes the whole first name and the last initial. If you include spaces, it's displaying 9 characters for me.

Could be that 'first name' is limited to 8 characters, but that seems odd given how much space there is on the display.

For some reason it puts a . at the end of the name so my screen reads Keith O.
