Guys does anyone know how the ABS rings are held on to the hubs? 

 

I took my front hubs to have new bearings fitted the other week and had new hubs and rings fitted at the same time due to the corrosion on the original rings.

 

Just noticed a nasty noise coming from the N/S front and on inspection it appears the ABS ring on the rear of the hub has come loose.

 

How are these fixed to the hubs? 

Last thing I want to do is get another hub fitted because that will involve another bearing and expense I could do without to be honest 

They are normally part of the hub, unless you had a pattern part fitted which came in a diiferent condition to what is normally supplied.

They are usually fitted at the factory onto the hub, presumably by use of expansion techniques and left to cool ready for shipping.

Does the new hub you had fitted not come with a parts warranty?

It should do, they came from euro car parts.

 

Looking at other patern ones on ebay they have 3 large screws holding them on which would make sense as its not loose all the way around

 

But the screw heads are on the inside and would be flat against the inside of the brake disc so no way they can undo so something is very wrong

Well it appears that all 3 screws are loose, probably started with one and vibrated the other 2 out.

Will get the strongest loctite I can to hold them in place and tighten back up.

Just hope it hasnt damaged the abs sensor in the process 

I've been having intermittent abs issues myself for a little while now.

I've been wondering if it's wiring or a ring problem.

Best way to get a look at it without disturbing it is to remove the disc.

 

Mine has split slightly and the magnet is trying to escape.

 

No lights on the dash but only a matter of time. 

 

The rings themselves will corrode quite badly, I'd remove the disc and try to clean them up a bit as the magnet relies on the ring to work and if its covered in corrosion it wont be very attractive to the magnet
