With the tailgate being all glass where badges are I know that I can remove the "Skoda" & "Rapid" badges no problem but can the main Skoda emblem be removed without leaving any holes for the guide pins that they normally have?

 

If so does anyone have a picture with this badge removed? I kind of like the idea of removing the centre tailgate badge but also think that it might look odd with nothing there at all. I can;t seem to find any examples on here or the web where someone has done this.

While I was removing the Skoda and Rapid badges I decided just to go for it take the big badge off. I was careful not to damage it so if I didn't like it then I could apply fresh tape and stick it back on.

 

I actually really like it off but while attempting to remove the sticky adhesive rubbery stuff I made a couple of scratches in the glass. They aren't obvious and you don't see them until you are really close up and with the light shining on it. After a look around the web I've bought acrylic glass scratch remover to try to remove and fill them at the same time.

 

I've also bought some paint to do the front and back badges. The thought of spending the best part of £90 for two badges that were already painted from Superskoda seemed rather silly. I already had some black but I've bought some race blue, lacquer and epoxy primer as it's meant to stick to plastic and chrome badges better than than normal primer

after removing badges, I use WD-40 and a soft cloth to remove any leftover glue. no marks.

I have sticky stuff remover but I'm also impatient and there was loads of thick rubbery sticky stuff left over. 

Can you retrofit the sport glass tailgate to the se tech!. I love the look.

I haven't seen another one side by side with my one but I would think that the shell would be the same for both cars and only the roof and tailgate are different.

 

I totally agree about the look. I saw another race blue spaceback the other day and it didn't have quite the same wow factor without the extended glass tailgate
