One to watch for ....

 

Degreased and cleaned the engine bay on Wednesday. Thursday morning notice a stain on drive under near side front wheel.

 

Mmm.... Keep an eye on that but most likely Gunk and water residue that has pooled.... Bit odd though.

 

Friday evening have time for a proper look. Park car up and go back an hour later expecting nothing. Stain in same spot... Bo****...

 

Double check coolant level. Not changed. Looking under car it's actually dripping fairly quickly. 

 

Have a taste on my finger ( as you do knowing whatever it is will probably be highly toxic and 30 years of tasting stuff on the end of your finger probably means I'm 2 finger tastes from poison unit at hospital ) .... Does have that coolant tang but could also be washer fluid.

 

Stick a paint primer cap under drip to catch it and fill the washer reservoir to max to watch. Stuff in lid is pink. Coolant is pink. Washer fluid is pink... Crap :-)

 

20 mins later check washer. Yup it's gone down a fair bit. TFFT !

 

So leaking is probably from near side headlight washer. Grab neighbour and ask him to watch both jets activate to see if the near side pressure seems to be lower than offside.

 

Both look exactly the same...... 

 

Resign myself for another trip to the dealers.....  Check again an hour later. Nothing !

 

Appears that something has not closed fully causing leak and last wash sorted !

Glad it's sorted! Nothing better when a potential problem turns out to be something minor
