just on way home from work on a country road around the speed limit, overtook a car then set off briskley along the road and into a bend when my furby decided it would look behind spinning a full 180 one way then 180 the other at which point im looking at a drop down into a field, regained control and stopped facing the right way on other lane PHEW!!!!! thank god for emergency driving course and skid pan training......... guy i overtook must have thought a few choice phrases lol. i set off back down the road so i could turn round to carry on home when young lad in a punto sporting lost it........saw him comin back down road to turn round too glad i finished work for nite, lol

when you buy your next car specify ESP ;)

Hmm - sounds like the road conditions were not really up to it either ;)

ESP might have stopped it spinning, but having experienced a bad decision (by myself, empty road, overdoing the 'lets see what this can do then' the ESP scared the living cr*p out of me - it kept the car pointing the way I was pointing the steering wheel, but it felt like I'd really overcooked it.

At this point I enquired for the IAM info pack and I will be getting started on that soon :o - purely my fault so must do better was my follow-on thought :D

Sorry to say this, but your car didn't make any such decision.

Unless you had a sudden blowout, the reason you spun the car is that you were driving too fast for the road conditions.

oh i quite agree the car didnt make the decision i did, and as i spend everyday driving under emergency conditions exceeding the speed limit it was the experience and vehcle control i have gained which meant i am here too write this, but i have found that the furby is quite a skittish car when pushed, perhaps i push the car slightly harder than most. but when all said and done the cause of the spin was down too me............was a great adrenalin rush though most get on a track soon and have another go lol

I did find this as well and put it down to the soft suspension, heavy nose and light rear end which can cause the car to become quickly unbalanced. Much improved with some Eibach springs and dampers, although still not as composed as some of it's sporty rivals on fast, twisty A and B roads :D

If 2 cars did the same thing at the same place, maybe their was some diesel or oil on the road causing the control problems. Driving on deisel is like driving on ice except you dont know its there until you try and brake /steer/acellerate and nothing happens.

:agree: I'd recommend everyone who drives regularly to do the same - makes you a much better and safer driver regardless of how good you think you already are!

on a dry day defo not too fast!! but was last night it was down too speed and being a daft lad.....i do recommend anyone to do the IAM course it is along the lines of ours and the police driving course it is a great course too do, but remember you can be the best driver in the world and do every course there is but u will still make mistakes, i do every time i drive the difference being a decent driver will realise the mistake and act.
