Ad blu useage.

Featured Replies

Just been away on holiday and while towing our caravan noticed that the ad blu usage seems to double. Towed 111 miles home yesterday and achieved best mpg ever at 32.1 but used 250 “ad blu miles “

I'm assuming this is normal but any other caravanners like to comment ?

Not a caravanner but two things spring to mind - mine uses adblue and the amount of adblue any car uses will depend on driving style - harder driving will use more adblue so towing a caravan will result in more adblue use. Also, given the range goes up to about 8,000 miles when full I am not sure a comparison over such a short distance is that representative of true use.

I have had the first 15K km service done a while back, needed to top up the AdBlu before the service. They did the software update for the headlights and topped up the adblu, now nearing the 30K Km service and have not needed to top up at all and not looking like I will have to. Either it was not full day one or something has changed (could be environmental, etc).

When we left home at start of holiday  I had over 3000 ad blu miles left. We towed around 800 miles plus around 150 solo. I just quoted the final trip home as an example really.
