Scout door bump strips

The facelift 2017 Scout doesn't have the plastic door bump strips on like the pre facelift does, however I've seen a few pre face online up for sale without the strips - and then ive seen one today in person.

I cant see anything from the pre face specs that point to it being an option to be removed but curious as to why most do but some don't.

Any Skoda aficionados know?  Debating whether I prefer it without and whether to remove
