advice needed on fitting MFSW and cruise control

Featured Replies

Hi guys looking some advice/pointers on fitting MFSW and cruise control to a lower spec car. I have a 2004 ambiente and I'm assuming it's going to have a lowline  steering wheel control module as haven't checked yet. I'm inline to basically salavge what I can of a l&k car to its 2.0 tdi and I was considering fitting the clocks from this car also as it has the maxidot I've been told. Will it work in the 1.9 tdi and I'm wondering if the mileage will stay the same from the donor car or change to my ow mileage ??

Correct, you'll probably need a new steering controller too. There are three different steering controller types over the MK2 lifespan so depending on the age of the L&K doner it may not fit.

As for the maxidot, if it's a pre-fl MK2 then it'll fit but you'll need both the immobiliser and odometer programming during fitting. Not sure who the best bet is for this in Belfast. Make sure it's the same fuel type so the rev counter is correct :)
