Electrics Issue

Featured Replies

Skoda Fabia driver's side door sensor stopped working after I had some repairs done at local Kwikfit. They are claiming it is unrelated but it is too much of a coincidence for me to think it is unrelated.

They replaced CV boots  - I read something about battery earth's being in that area? Does anyone know anything about this?

Help much appreciated.

What year is the Fabia?

What do you mean by 'door sensor'?

Its a 2007- the older version (2002-2007?)

Sorry should have been more specific - it no longer recognises when the driver door is opened- interior light doesn't go on, warning when you leave headlights on doesn't go off etc.

It will be the microswitch in the drivers door lock unit. Replacing the CV boots wouldn't have anything to do with it. It has to be a coincidence.

EDIT: Or a possible broken wire in the rubber door bellows.

+1 for that vague feeling of unease and paranoia after dealing with Kwikfit...

...but this problem is unconnected as TMB says.
