Tuning options?

Featured Replies

Hi

having had a fully decat'd classic scooby before the Octavia I am now looking at what I can do to the Octavia to make it feel more powerful.

I know a Jabbasport visit is my only thought currently and that I would get about 50bhp increase for about

ok, TIP, turbo back exhaust and remap and you'll be around 230-240bhp

Forge will do the TIP for just over £100

BlueFlame do a full system for about £550-600

and a remap from our friends at Jabba will cost £450 or there abouts as part of a group buy.

i dont know what your scooby could produce but that little lot should see you worrying most cars on the road.

obviously then your going to have to think about brakes and suspension.

Ferodo DS2500 pads on either standard or cross drilled disks and super dot4 fluid will sort the brakes out.

on the vRS i've read that uprated ARB's do a sterling job of sorting the handling or coilovers.

there are bomb loads of posts on the forms here for all the above.

do a search and see what you can dig up.

Thank you for that. Where does that increased power show compared to the standard 180bhp? Is it more mid range and top end or will low down acceleration benefit too?

It's up to you.

When I've had mine done at Jabba, I've told Michael what I wanted and he has given me just that.

I wasn't worried about just having high peaks, I wanted mine to have as much space below the lines as possible, with boost held consistently right to the end. My numbers weren't high, but ask any number of scoobynet or trackday regulars how quick mine was :D

OK thanks, didn't realise you could choose :D I'd probably want it in the mid range anyway as it currently wheel spins in firstif you hammer it so would be pointless putting extra power down there just to loseit in wheel spin. I need better tyres admittedly.
