ABS / ESC Sensor error on Octavia

Featured Replies

I have an Octavia Elegance (1.8 TSI) here in India. Recently the Front right ABS/ESC sensors starting going on, including others like Tire pressure and Auto Focus headlights. I took the car to the service center and they fixed the car saying they replaced the front wheel sensor. Now within 2 months the same error has started coming. The streeing wheel tightens, i presume due to the ESC. I saw some videos on YouTube for other cars, where people have shown how to clean an ABS sensor. Has anyone tried this on an Octavia, i presume the method would be pretty much the same. Remove the front right wheel, locate the sensor behind the disk , remove and clean.

The service center will charge me a bomb if i go to them. Any thoughts?

Why would they charge you? Either the car is under warranty (Octavia is recently new to India I believe) and if not then the new Sensor they fitted should be under warranty. The wheel speed sensor is a non-contact device, I can't understand why you would clean it?
