Octavia vrs overheating

Featured Replies

My 2014 vrs has been having problems with overheating the last couple of weeks. It happens a couple of minutes after getting up to temperature,  but if I slow down for 3-4 minutes the temperature gauge goes back down to normal and then no more problems for the rest of journey.  Once it's been through that,  it's fine. Read a few posts about issues with the water pump being a common problem,  but would it follow this behaviour if it was the water pump?

TSI or TDI?

Known problem with TDI mentioned on many threads here.

TDI.

I meant to say as well,  I asked the dealer to have a look at it when it went in for new brake pads last week and they said they'd ran a pressure test and couldn't see anything obvious,  but not sure whether this would show the water pump issue?

Good job this was pinned to the top of the board eh

Thanks

Water pump leaks! Is a common problem. Had mine changed at 60,000 as my car kept over heating.
