Clutch advice

Featured Replies

So the clutch has started slipping unsurprisely.

The car has 116k miles and 230bhp with 330lbs ft

BMN engine

Stage 1 remap

I was just wondering which clutch would be ideal for the specification ? I was looking about excedy racing clutches but I'm not sure where to get them, I'm willing to spend a bit on a decent one but it's just the clutch and the flywheel isn't rattling as of yet.

Thanks

I'm thinking that when mine does eventually let go, I'll probably go for OEM.  It's coped well for the last 103k miles and has handled the remap for the last 20k miles quite happily.

Yea mines just doing the odd slip here and there I'll probably go oem as there a huge price gap tbh I was also looking for led/xenon foglight bulbs in for xenon you have to fit the box for ignition but is it possible to go led for both the fogs and headlights as my car has osram d1s xenons as standard

Take note this slipping only occured when the car was very low on diesel, which I found strange but may still relate to the clutch.

Update* turns out the clutch isn’t slipping its the tires. Turns out the continentals are making the car spin in 4th and 5th if the road is any way Greasy. Before I go and throw on a set of pilot sports can anyone recommend something better for the same price or cheaper?

thanks

I got some Goodyear Eagle F1 A3s on the front the otherday, previously had Pilot sports. I prefer them and i think they're usually about 20 quid cheaper a corner. I'm running 2 goodyears front and 2 pilot sports on the back at the moment. Seem quieter too
