Eml with low fuel pressure code

Featured Replies

Hi folks i’m Hoping someone can help me out here. I have a 2011 vrs fsi and I get my eml light coming on totally at random when it wants. It can stay on for days and then just go off and stay off for days. With no difference to the cars performance at any time! I have changed the cam follower and the low pressure fuel sensor and neither has fixed the problem. It has been like this for a few months since I bought the car and doesn’t really bother me but I would just like to solve the issue. Can anybody help me?

Why have you changed the low pressure fuel sensor and the cam follower?

Have you had the fuel pressure checked?

Because that’s what I was told to try. How do you check the fuel pressure? Like I say car runs no different it’s just starting to niggle me having the light come on and off

Hang on, lets backtrack a bit, have you had the fault codes read? With you changing these parts I have presumed you know for sure that the EML light is for the fuel pressure.

Yes I have had a computer on the car telling me low fuel pressure. So that is why I have changed the cam follower and the pressure sensor

Which sensor have you replaced? I'm no expert on these engines ut my understanding is that there is a sensor on the pump and one on the fuel rail, and possibly one after the lift pump on the low pressure side on earlier engines.

If you do have a faulty sensor you may have changed the wrong one, or you may actually have low fuel pressure, i'm sure there will be a tapping to hook up a test gauge to prove it.

I have replaced the sensor beneath the manifold.
