fabia diesel front calipers

Featured Replies

Afternoon all

apologies if this thread is an well used thread but I'm looking for replacement lucas front calipers for my fab est 1.9 tdi

any tips on stockists of recon calipers or have anyone been successful in changing the pistons and sliders themselves

regards Carl

Changed my front discs and callipers on a 288mm lucas setup. Got them from Eurocarparts. I used Bosch disc, I like the fact they have a silver covering and not oil that needs wiping off. It means no rust forms on the still covered rest of the disc.

I changed both front hoses at the same time. The copper washer on the brake hose is not meant to be reused, but they don't remove from the vw hoses. So I solved that issue with 2 new hoses. I bet you could just bolt the old hose back on or cut the old washer off and find washers to fit. But 2 hoses are so cheap I took that route.

No problems in the complete swap, but one bleeds with an 11mm and the other 10mm spanner. Didn't make much difference, but still odd I now have this one 10mm bleed nipple.
