Under engine plastic guard

Hi there, im new! But i have had a second hand yeti for a year now - 2010 1.2tsi

its had a couple of things over the year. My partner forgot the oil cap one time after checking the oil so we spent a while cleaning with cloths.. and when i last took it in for the yearly check it needed new disks and pads.. i just did the service myself - oil and air filter..

weirdest thing is that the under engine plastic sump guard appears to be missing...

im pretty sure it had one when i took it for the yearly test....

is it possible it never had one and i imagined it?

whats stock on the 2010 1.2tsi?

a plastic sump guard or no?

my google dig makes me suspect its just the diesel that has it....

finally - whats the torque setting for the oil sump plug?

My 2010 Yeti had a plastic engine undertray. These can be lost, I ripped one of my previous Superb on a rutted track when it grounded, but the noise it made when going is something you would notice.

Unless you have the off road pack fitted with a more substantial sump guard, the plastic undertray is only there to improve the airflow. It has to be removed to drain the oil , and it could be left off I suppose, or not securely refixed.

hmmm,

think i would have noticed of it had ripped off. All the fixings are in place.

im thinking it was there before that last time it went to the mechanics..

weird because they replaced only the disks.

I wonder if its worth replacing?

Maybe theres something on ebay.

does anyone know where to fing schematics and part numbers?
