Skoda Superb Estate 4x4 tail end skip

Hi

 

A couple of times now, both on small roundabouts, the tail end has kicked out.

 

Has anyone else experienced this?

 

I am assuming that possibly the road surface was greasy (dry both times) and the 4WD kicked in but would be grateful if anyone could suggest if there is an inherent problem with the model.

What sort of tyres do you have on Dave?

I'm working away at the moment so can't remember exact spec but they are the low profile ones.

OK Dave understood. My guess is they are Pirelli P7s which are not the grippiest of tyres especially in the higher powered variants of the Superb III. But if you could check when you get back and let us know.

I think you might be right.

 

My main concern was that both incidents were at very low speed.

Tyre pressures too high?

Sounds like rear diff lock to me but I am not at all familiar with the Haldex system. Have it plugged in to see if there are any errors,

Mine did this a couple of times though on wet roundabouts and I booted it so wasn't surprised when it happened.

So how many miles has the car done and has it had a Haldex Service and by whom?

& importantly what are the tyre pressures at, and what tyres as previously asked?

Was this under hard acceleration? Did it do it whilst entering/in/exiting the roundabout?   Was it raining?  Had it been raining?  Is the roundabout near a petrol station/services?  Is the road used by HGV's.
