Monte Carlo repair advise

Featured Replies

I'm tempted with the following monte Carlo on eBay to repair for my Son. I got my daughter a fabia 1.6tdi and she loves it.

Now I'm not worried about the bonnet, wing, bumper. Light etc i can get 2nd hand from ebay but the inner wing / leg is obviously a little bent and i guess this would mess up the mounting for the bolt in items. So I'm after some advise, is it best to leave this one where it is ?

There is a beautiful Monte Estate for sale on BRISKODA, it will cost less than buying that one and repairing it.

It will hold its value better than the accident repaired hatch.

Leave it to the professionals unless you have access to a jig, lazer alignment etc.

This was at about 5-10 mph and minor external damage across the front, until stripped. See the front legs, and cross member that you will be replacing.

As its obviously written off, its value will always be next to nowt

Advertiser does not mention what category, check vehicle history....

As ski says, unless you are a professional with right alignment kit then you could regret putting your daughter in such a car.

From experience you may find suspension alignment issues (the fabia front suspension has no adjustment possible bar toe in) the suspension and transmission components may have been whacked and damaged, gearbox final drive is a bit fragile on fabias expensive to repair.

Don't buy without a professional inspection and some kind of test run.

Plenty of fabias for sale, its cheaper to buy one of those
