Revo Stage 1

Featured Replies

Sorry my bad, 270ps in the previous Golf R & 265 or 280 PS with a SEAT Leon Cupra 2.0TSI.

Quick enough for some the 265 or 270 ps, not that quick as a manual on an actual road when against something quicker,

maybe like a 'driving god in a remapped vRS245'..

The only golf I know of with a 265ps output is the GTI ClubSport

The first 2.0litre turbo Golf R with 4WD had 261bhp which it shared with the Audi S3 of the time. What it had was an overboost facility for overtaking which would give you 286bhp for fifteen seconds.

ShyVRS245,

what are the actual 60ft times, or 1/4 mile or 0-100mph with your 300+ ps 245 Octavia.

If you have no Strip Print out do you have anything done on a V-Box or even just your guesstimates.

No acceleration testing done on my car but when on the dyno at AmD it was 2 seconds quicker in 5th gear than a standard VRS245 between 2000 and 6000revs. Purely for comparison my manual car weighs 1,370kg so should be in the ballpark of these 2 cars tested by EVO magazine.

Honda Civic Type R (1,378kg) 0-60mph 5.7sec and 0-100mph 12.7sec. This car was the original 2.0litre turbo car with 306bhp (not the later 316bhp version). Standing 1 mile was 36.6sec at terminal speed of 144mph. 6 speed manual box tested.

VW Golf Clubsport S (1,360kg) 0-60mph 5.9sec and 0-100mph 12.9sec. This car had an identical 306bhp and the standing 1 mile was completed slightly quicker in 35.1sec at a terminal speed of 146mph. Also 6 speed manual box tested. My car has a lot more torque than either of these cars at 345lb/ft or 467NM which will aid acceleration times.:o

I seem to remember you posting a 30-120 mph time or was that 50-120, do you just time that on your watch?

How Revo Stage 1 affects driving modes?

Normal, Comfort, Sport, Eco?

Video showing 32-104mph in 3rd gear only to show flexibility of map took 11 seconds, but car can do 39mph in 1st gear and 71mph in 2nd gear which would take a couple of seconds off the 30-100 time. 0-30mph should be just over 2 seconds. Will have to do Santa Pod when stage 2 parts and re-map completed next month.:tongueout:

Mine is fast in any mode but always left in SPORT and economy has improved from 37mpg over first 7,000miles when standard and last 6,000miles averaged 42mpg with an extra 54bhp.

Shouldn't make a difference, the modes do not have any effect on the power produced by the engine or the way the power is delivered. Just alters things like throttle response, coasting in eco with DSG, sound actuator volume and a few more things.

Have you checked your BC with real mileage between full tanking?

Always brim to brim. Just checked last 8 tankfuls, 333.97 litres (73.46 gallons), 3,211 miles (5,137km) at an average of 43.71MPG even better than I thought.:tongueout:

Revo tend to understate the power figures.....

I had my Scirocco and my MK5 GTI mapped at the Cannock Revo agents. The website states 185 to 205 (1.4 twincharged)(for the Scirroco) and I came away running just under 230, they stated 250 for the MK5 and I came away with just over260. With that in mind, I'm waiting for the Black Friday sale and I'm going to book mine in. I reckon it'll be close to 350....

REVO Produced / sold such a bad Remap for 1.4 TSI / TFSI 132-136kw Euro 5 Twinchargers that could already have issues that they killed a good few engines.

They did give a warning to not remap dodgy engines, but the APR Stage 1 and Stage 2 was so much better, even a TMC or Bluespark tuning box was less risky than the very aggressive REVO remap / engine management.

http://onlyrevo.com/support/sales/14tsi-twincharger-engine-issues

They took the 177 bhp Twinchargers that were actually 185ps on Superunleaded to 205-210 PS stage 1 some might well have had a bit more

& over 220 with stage 2.

230-250 with a stage 1 would have been amazeballs, not seen that on a dyno, or proof of on a road or track.

Yes the twincharger engines from the Sirocco, Golf, Alhambra, Beetle and others had the Timing Chain Issues and others, then the 180-185ps Ibiza,Fabia,Polo & A1, but the REVO Stage 1 as nice as it was for power was actually sh!te IMO / IME.

As long as you use Tesco Momentum 99 Super or Shell V-Power you will have no problems and of course use a reputable dealer to carry out the mapping. My current car is the sixth one I have had mapped and totally transforms the drive. Standard VRS245 runs out of puff above 125mph taking over 40seconds to eventually get to 250kph (156mph) but a mapped car with take around 15seconds to go from 125-156mph. I know I've done it!:D

Is yours mapped?

or the ruining box?

A map wins everytime

You haven’t got REVO have you?

Why are are you commenting as if you do?

The OP wants info on REVO. All you post is how great your car is, how fast it is. Me, me, me!

Its laughable, I sit here and just laugh out loud at you.

Back to topic.

I am moderately interested in Revo Stage 1, for my manual car. People of better knowledge then mine say it's a lot fun, as gearbox itself is quite shorter then DSG.

I'm definitely getting mine done before the end of the year. As long as the car is looked after and not ragged to within an inch of its life all the time, very few problems are encountered.

Revo won't map a car if it isn't right.

Go for it. You won't regret it. I've had my last 3 cars mapped and never encountered a problem....
