My signal sucks, FM is bad and AM has no reception so I am guessing it is the amplifier as it seems to be a common fault.

 

I have an RNS315, it doesn't have DAB, the car does have the sharks fin-style aerial mount with the stubby aerial though, like the Polo 6R.

 

Is it just the aerial amplifier that I need to replace or do I need to buy the whole base and amplifier?  I think its part number 5J0035577, Ebay only seems to have second hand parts sadly, where is the location of the amplifier??
