Ive Broken down

Featured Replies

Disaster happened last night i broke down:( . Just pulled out of my street and pressed to accelerate away and there was no power(well very little anyway). I could select my gears and the clutch was ok and since the noise is on the driver side front wheel i think its a drive shaft!!!. Called skoda assist and waited for 1hr20mins for a truck to come and lift it. Btw this was at 10.30 last night. Really worried about it now. The car is just under 2yrs old and 31000 miles on it. No telltale signs about this either. Just glad it didnt happen on the way to or from dublin last week!. I do hope that this is under warrenty as i cant really see why it wound. Only thing im worried about is if they try and blame it on the wheels which are 18inch rs6 wheels like loads of u guys r using. Having to walk and being standed at ome is not good. Hopefully hear the diagnosis later on today fingers crossed. Also no i havnt hit the wheel off a curb or anything.....sure that would hurt my pressious alloys

do u guys think they will fix in in warranty or what?

Hi Mate

They could try to pin point it on to your alloys.

But just stand your ground.

If it is a manufacturing defec then it should be ok

Let us know how you get on

just found out that it was the inner cv joint that collapsed. Said its under warrenty at the min but in a month time i could be told it wasnt and then have to pay for the cost as skoda could refuse it then. I thought it either under warrenty or not?

As I understand it, the dealer submits a claim on your behalf to Skoda UK. They then decide whether they will cover it as a warranty item.... Has the dealer hinted as to what they think caused the CV joint to collapse?

no they didnt say but they said skoda might have blamed it on the wheels but thery took the photos with them off which was great. Roll on wed. im drivin a 93 clio automatic....i want my power back lol

Sounds like you have found a good dealer there.

Hopefully that will help.

Fingers crossed for you
