Maybe a silly question can a function for massage be switched on in superb elegance. It has all the motors obviously that you can manually use and i know some of the top of range vw have it so just wondered

You mean the motors for moving the seat in various directions to better suit the driving position by using the buttons on the side of the seat?

No i mean the ones in the seat for lumbar support etc

That's the only one "extra", just for the lumbar part, the massage seats have many more motors, all of which don't have anything to do with the seat position .. the Passat B8 i.e. seat control looks like this (notice the 3rd button):
