Particle diesel filter

Featured Replies

My particle diesel filter warning light is on.

Have you read the section in your owners manual about the DPF?

The diesel particulate filter separates the soot particles from the exhaust. The soot particles collect in the diesel particulate filter where they are burnt on a regular basis.

(DPF light) illuminates – the filter is clogged with soot.

To clean the filter, and where traffic conditions permit » , drive as follows for at least 15 minutes or until the indicator light (DPF light) goes out.
- 4. or 5. gear engaged (automatic gearbox:S position).
- Vehicle speed at least 70 km/h.
- Engine speed between 1800-2500 rpm.

If the filter is properly cleaned, the warning light (DPF light) extinguishes.

If the filter is not properly cleaned, the warning light (DPF light) does not go out and the warning light (glow plug light) begins to flash.

You might also want to add what year/age your car is, it's mileage, the engine size and if it's had the emissions 'fix' from Skoda.

if all hardware is ok, according to manual, have to to open road and drive in 3. o4 4. gear on 2000 rpm few minutes..

i had once dpf light and continuing driving , it was uphill so it regenerates in 5 kilometers, it was 5.th day i bought car, so i didnt know  much about regeneration..

i think it is something happened every 500-800kms, but reading that after updating car with diselgate fix update, regeneratin process is more frequent, every 200-300kms..

i had obd2 receiver and buyed vag dpf apk on google play store and now monitoring every regen anf finishing it to the end. no more unfinished regenerations..

previuos owner had 1000 unfinished regens i suppose so i am on 0.16L of ash..

thinking to go to tuners to flash back previous software on ecu, before dieselgate scandal.. engine was working better, smaller consumption and intervals between regens more prolonged..
