Hi, 

Im wanting to mod my car, thinking of a darkside 2.5 decat that joins onto stock 2.25 exhaust. Is this worth im going to be going down the hybrid route. Would it be worth getting the hybrid on first then the downpipe or would the downpipe be grand with standard turbo, until i get a hybrid put on. Also is there any power increase with a 2.5 ?

Unless your going over 230bhp then there's no point getting a decat as it's not restrictive until passed that. Same goes with the standard exhaust. 

 

If you do get one fit the hybrid turbo and decat at the same time then get it mapped to suit. 

 

I thought de-cat pipes now failed the MOT as of 20th April?

 

 

Cheers for the reply’s. My plan was to change the downpipe every year for mot .abit of hassle I know but the only way around it. 

Mine never failed a MOT with it on. I know it should have. 

 

Went to a few different test stations too 

If the rules are the same as here in England (UK?), its not road legal and would void insurance cover.

Depends when you had the MOT - ah didn't spot the fact you wer in Northern Ireland.
