Tow bar fitting on MK2 Fabia 3 HATCHBACK

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm wanting to fit a tow bar to my (new to me) fabia mk2 2009 HATCHBACK (fabia 3 if that makes a difference).

I'm confident with the bumper cutting and physically fitting the tow bar but is splicing into the rear lights etc for the electrics going to put warning lights on the dash etc.

It's only for a bike rack not actually towing anything.

Thanks

Hi, I had a Westfalia towbar fitted to mine last year. The firm that did it had to contact VW for a code (or something) in order to programme the car to accept the new tow bar wiring. There is no dash warning light nor buzzer for the indicators with this system. Here is the pdf for the wiring (in typically EEC speak).

I hope it all goes well.
