rear washer not working

Featured Replies

I've just purchased a VRS second hand and the rear washer isn't working, the wiper moves but when I try to use the wash I can't hear the pump, I would appreciate any trouble shooting suggestions, Thanks

N.B, Could anybody tell me which fuse controls the washer, I can only find one for the wiper on my diagram.

Take off the cover on the wiper and unclip the nozzle. Mine was caked up with crud and possibly a contributor to why it leaked inside the motor and killed the whole unit.

If when you unclip it and water comes out when you use the washer, then replace the nozzle.

Is water dripping out the bottom of your tailgate when you pull the leaver? If so it's come loose or the washer motor is leaking.

There is also a chance that the previous owner disconnected it?

When I was replacing mine, the estate version seemed to be exactly the same same as the hatch but without the washer going through it. It is also A LOT cheaper than the hatchback version. Maybe they put one of these on and blocked up the pipe to save some money.

Not sure which fuse is for the washer. Like you I could only find the one for the wiper.

Thanks Munfred for all of that, there is no leak when i pull the lever, and also can't hear a pump working, thats why i was going more towards the fuse or pump having packed up, I'll start by checking the nozzle first though,

Thanks again
