Karoq Scout and Sportline now on UK configurator

As above Karoq Scout and Sportline now on UK configurator

Being diesel only seems rather short-sighted? But I suppose that is what we come to expect from Skoda UK.

If I do stick with going for a Karoq looks like it will be an up-specced SE L as with the Yeti.

It isn’t diesel only. It may be on the the website for now.

However they are releasing a 1.5 148bhp and a 2 litre 190 bhp versions

Ok, that's good news then.

What isn't for me though is that all three of the Scout, Sportline and Edition have panoramic sun roofs which I don't want.

I'm getting a bit sick of Skoda UK forcing this option on even more of the models that I'm interested in.

Apart from being very expensive, what's so problematic with a sunroof for you? Just curious.

Any idea when, they are not on October newly updated price list, so presumably not soon

Or is it (maybe) sometime in 2019

Although it is off topic SEAT UK are happy to issue a price list with TBC for these engines for sister car ATECA,

but Skoda opted not to list it, on their price list, which suggests not soon (or not at all)

Reason they have come with Panoramic Sun Roofs as standard is pretty obvious,

they wanted cars WLTP approved so put them though with the Sunroofs soonest as every variation needs tested,

so do them with the sunroofs, later maybe next year they can be tested without.

then those will show lower C02 g/km and Fuel Consumption when it suits to have lower for the RDE results being required in September 2019.

For me its just something I dont really want, that tends to be a costly upgrade and will inevitably give more problems than a normal roof. The mrs has a monte carlo fabia which is 2 years old this month. Its had 1 problem in all that time and that was the panoramic roof cracking of its own accord. It was replaced as a manufacturing defect but the whole process took nearly 14 weeks from start of claim to end, the car had to go to a body shop to be done and was away for the best part of a week. That was cost free but imagine if that was a stone from a truck on the motorway or similar? Id rather not have the liability or worry to be honest, aside from that I never notice the open roof when Im driving it, except when its hotter than a normal car when I first get in it in the sun!

As ExSEAT says I don't want one for the reasons he has stated, as well as possible water ingress problems, and for the fact that it reduces the head room. Not that my head touches it (!) but I like the spacious feeling and I'd also like to spend what the included forced option costs (though obviously cheaper for Skoda) on something I want rather than what Skoda UK dictates.

It's one thing to have it on the top of the range model like the L&K Yeti, which dissuaded me from having one and likewise on the Karoq Edition but to then find it foisted onto two other models is really p*ssing me off!

I've never had a panoramic sun roof on any car I've had and just don't want one. As I've said before my other car has the ultimate panoramic sun roof!

My thoughts on why Skoda are doing this are along the lines of what Offski says i.e. the WLTP testing but who knows if and when cars will be offered without one. I've already decided to keep the Yeti beyond when the PCP is up and may well get tired of hoping what I want will become available.

Amen to that! Im stuck still, dont know what I can go for that wont be an expensive compromise. I'll be waiting to see what the offers are like in a few months but looking at APR rates and the price of the new models Ive almost all but given up on a new VRS octavia and now the sportline karoq. The specs and price now make them par with the competition so the skoda advantage has gone out the window for me.

If they can't get the picture of the car right then I wouldn't trust their prices.
