New Civic 2.2 CTDi

Featured Replies

Just been looking at the performance stats for the new civic. . . . is it just me, or does 8.4s 0-60 for a car with less than 100bhp per tonne seem a bit rich? It's got a similar performance engine to a VAG 2.0TDi (138 bhp. 251ft/lbs . . ok, torque is a bit higher) and weighs nearly 1500kg . . . just seems a bit rich?

Nope , having driven one the sub 9 second 0-60 is accurate.

It's a very rapid car indeed.

:iagree: ...a superb car and a cracking engine!

Yup, it's quick but for me ergonomics and handling let it down (thought it more scary than the Fabia vRS in corners).

It's about the area under the curve, not the biggest number it reaches.

Power/weight ratio is only a fair comparison when comparing the same engine in the same vehicle in different states of tune.
