I see. I think you have a mis-match between the connectors where the blue wire comes through the firewall. I think it is different between AWY and AZQ. More info shortly, just need to grab my laptop.

Actually it only changed in May 2004; so was the loom stuff in your picture from a later car than the 2003 AZQ engine?

In that case you should have blue and violet/green at the two way connection that would/should be on the gearbox bracket, and if it's unbroken between there and the OBSCU, it should have about 11V with ignition on.  Just need to get that to the alternator. But I think you've tried that, or you didn't find any volts there?

It must be unplugged from the alternator when you are measuring.

The connector I mean should mate with the one with the brown and blue wires from the first page of this thread.

there is connector yes, but it goes to alternator, not to obscu. other one is missing. I marked with green this loom (came from donor) which I have in car now, others in picture weren't transferred.

Wow, this is tough, I wish I could look at your car for ten minutes!

So the two big connectors in between the start and alternator words on your photo above are still the same that the car was built with?

In which case the blue wire should be coming out of one of them from the pin I marked in a photo on your other thread, to the 14 way connector on the left side of the engine bay.

Can you take a photo of the 14-pin connector you think I am talking about?

Nope, before I didn't have at all that connector in gearbox bracket. Thats why I was ???? as didnt even remember disconnecting ever that.

I think alternator 2-way connector came originally through engine loom, and now as engine changed, it's not coming anymore. Also, because I needed that short loom for connecting lambda [from donor], there is now also unused connector in gearbox bracket for alternator, because car doesnt know alternator wiring should go through engine loom, not that "gearbox front loom"

The two big connectors I am talking about are the ones with the red rubber seals. The ones that connect the cabin to the engine bay.

Have you made any changes to these two connectors, or the wiring that comes out of them?

This is the circuit for the alternator blue wire for an AWY car:

I just can't figure out how it isn't at pin 3 of your 14-pin connector pair (either part?), when it comes directly to there from the big multi-connector at the firewall.

I can understand it not being on the 'new' half of the 14 way connector pair if that is part of the wiring looms you have changed, but it should still be there on the 'original' half of the connector, which must be still as it was when the car was built?
