HELLO FROM GLASGOW. RETURNING MEMBER

HI ALL.  I'm back in VRS ownership after a brief spell with a Kodiaq . The latter was an absolutely beautiful car to be in, and to drive ( as long as on the flat and without the family and an empty boot ).  I went for the 1.4 150 bhp petrol as most of our driving is around town. All the reviews are brilliant, "never lacking in power " etc etc . I was coming off the back of a 2009 petrol VRS DSG which was a stunning car . I was never expecting it to feel like that, however as soon as you got anywhere near a hill it shifted down to second, and the engine was very noisy and intrusive. Even my wife asked " will it get up this hill"!  I got it on contract hire from Arnold Clark in Glasgow. I went back and explained the issue and they couldn't care less . Henry's Skoda however were brilliant.  they managed to do almost a straight swap in a new VRS 230 estate DSG in black.  Very nice, although I have a specific question about tyres and road noise which i'll do my best to post in the right section . Cheers

Welcome, your not far from myself.

Welcome back and good to see your back in a proper car. I traded in a 2016 Superb 1.4Tsi manual SE for my current Vrs and loving it.:inlove:

Welcome back to briskoda

Welcome back to the forum , shame about the Kodiaq , thing you don't think of loading a car up on a test drive !

" however as soon as you got anywhere near a hill it shifted down to second,"

Now that is not something I have experienced in my 1.4 TSI 125HP manual Kodiaq.  I suspect you had a fault in the DSG software.

Welcome from another Glaswegian!

Very interesting regarding the Kodiaq. I went in to change my VRS out for a Kodiaq, and walked away with a Superb 280 as I had the same concerns you have just raised. Enjoy the VRS again!!

a Superb 280!  well done!  how do you find it ? .  re the Kodiaq, I just think there's no way round that it's a big car and a small engine

Just luck! Walked in on Saturday, and had it by thursday :) When I was told about the delivery times for the Kodiaq, and there were only small engines on physical ones, I went for th Superb.
