Vrs Rear discs & pads size

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever heard of 272mm rear discs with Lucas callipers ?

Have got a pr number of 1KT and the rear discs are 272mm which I have replaced but the pads I got to match (Bosch calliper) don’t fit and they look to be the same as the Lucas ones ?

My sticker said 1KT but I have Lucas/TRW calipers.

Which meant a different pad but most importantly a bigger rear disc size of 282mm!

It's all on here buddy...

Thanks, strange that my discs are still 272mm. Seems almost as if the back two callipers were replaced with incorrect ones

Same as yourself actually,  Will have to get 282 and different pads

I was going to say check your discs, 272mm fit the hub fine but not the pads!

Yeah absolute disaster, was rushing last night putting them back together so never checked, after doing about 30 miles on them now so going to have to take the hit and buy new ones.

No idea was the PR was wrong, very frustrating.

Thanks for your help

No worries, I had the same issue. Luckily I didn't drive anywhere with the 272mm discs.

I am not sure about that PR sticker either, it's thrown a lot of people off with buying parts!

I have just blindly ordered rear discs and pads using the PR number

It sounded like a great idea but if it cannot be relied on then is useless.

I had my suspicions, the pads on the listing had the spring rivetted to them and mine do not appear to have, didnt look to close or I would have measured the disc diameter.

50/50 chance I suppose.

Best thing to do it just take off the wheel and have a look/ measure discs. I’m after spending a week trying to fit these and bought 2 sets of discs and 2 sets of pads. Can’t trust them Pr codes :(

Or cut some cardboard up and poke it through gaps in the alloys  :
