Got a 10 plate Octavia vrs and the side lights never worked; did some lighting upgrades and also got sides changed but still nothing; tried to find which fuse they are connected to but no luck.. any help please|?

This might have been better asked in the MK2 Octavia section.

 

The sidelights on the vRS aren't connected. There is wiring inside the headlight as it's the same part as non-vRS models. However, there is no wiring between the headlight and BCM (Body Control Module) which controls the exterior lighting.

 

Instead, the LED DRL should dim to perform the sidelight function.
