Login code for Fabia II for STG17

Featured Replies

I want to code in a new key on a Fabia 2009. When I open STG 25 a message pops up telling me to go into STG 17, login and enter a 7-digit code or the login code. In many controllers Ross Tech have left the login code, in this one I cannot see any login code. Does anyone have this code?

The code will be unique to your car/cluster.

Where can I get a / the code from?

Is there another way to get the car to learn a new key?

I assume this is replacing a lost key? If you're just replacing a broken/damaged key, you might be able to transfer the immo chip from the old one..

Anyway, I'm not 100% on immo but from some reading I've done recently I believe the following is true:

- If you just bought a blank/new key, it will need the key 'pre-coding' to the car. VCDS cannot do this.

- Once it's 'pre-coded', you just need to have the car learn the key.

- In the past, you could get a 0+4 pin or a 7 digit pin/date from a dealer. Unless you have this, VCDS can't help.

A decent auto-locksmith is probably the best plan, they should be able to pre-code the key and perform the learning for you.

On the plus, VCDS can match the remote fob side.

Do you know whether VCP can code remote immobilizer and fob to the car?

I don't think VCP can do any immo related stuff...

It was not too urgent over Christmas, so I put getting a spare keyfob on the back burner.

I have bought  an ID48 chip key fob on the internet, got it cut and I coupled it with the central locking.

I then contacted Skoda UK asking how to get the 4 or 7 digit code and they wrote back saying that I could get it from a franchised dealer if I show some photo ID and bring the V5C. I did this today and the service guy told me that they would not deal with codes at all. I would have to book the car in and they would do it for £55.

How will their computers talk to STG17 unless they have a login code?

I'd be surprised if the dealer could give you the code as I believe ODIS will get the details directly from VAG servers and never show the technician.

As the key hasn't been ordered through Skoda, I doubt it'll be pre-coded to your car so you might find the dealer isn't able to match it.
