which VCDS for my Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi, I want to know which type of VCDS to use on my Yeti 1.6 tdi 2013.  I only want to use it for priming the diesel pump after replacing the filter and for checking fault codes ?

Do you mean which VCDS cable or which diagnostic tool? VCDS isn't a generic name it's a particular product.

Hi, petrol Dave.

I am new to this sort of thing. I don't know much about vcds. My understanding is that you need to plug in a laptop with a VCDS software into a port in the drivers compartment, so wanted to know what I need. I don't have VCDS software o'r a cable. I was told there are different types of VCDS software ?

There's only 1 VCDS software, developed by Ross-Tech, that works with all their cables and has free updates for as long as you own the cable. But you have to buy a genuine one, there are LOTS of rip-offs on auction sites which have hacked software.

If you want to be future proof then get one of the latest cables either a HEX-NET or a HEX-V2, see http://ross-tech.com

If you don't want to buy, then there are lots of people who will do tweaks etc. in exchange for beer tokens, see https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/262215-list-of-vcds-owners-previously-known-as-vag-com-vcp-owners/
